Lunchtime Made Healthy

Since starting the SUPER food diet I've been taking my own lunch to work. One of my favorite SUPER food lunches is the Green Giant Health Blends. The Health Blends come in portion controlled steam packages that you throw into the microwave for 3 minutes, and voila you have perfectly steamed vegetables for lunch. One steam package can fill me up if I pair it with cottage cheese and a fruit. At $1.89 per package, it won't break your bank either.

  1. I love the one with a few red potatoes in it--the sauce is awesome. Pretty impressive for frozen food!

  2. I love these things, we have them for dinner at least 3-4 times a week. I never thought of taking them for lunch though...good idea!

  3. Hmm, I have never seen these before. I'll have to check out the frozen foods section more carefully. What do you put on them? Or are they already nicely flavored?

This would be a perfect way to break up my streak of Lean Cuisines, Lean Pockets, and occasional sandwiches. :)

  4. Most of them come with a light seasoning. I sprinkle a little salt and pepper on them most of the time.

Everytime I see or hear of lean pockets I think of Jim Gaffigan and it makes me laugh. :-)

  5. I found them at the store tonight! And they are only $1.69 each! SCORE! :)

I bought a couple. They are only 90 calories though! I have to come up with something else to eat because I know 90 calories will not sustain me for long. I usually eat baby carrots and an apple with my lunch every day, but even with those things I fear it's not enough. Too bad I am such a picky eater--I don't like yogurt or cottage cheese!
